God and Guns
This past Friday I participated in a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. with Star Parker of Urban C.U.R.E.. The topic of the press conference was the gun control and the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. The group of distinguished speakers were very impassioned with regards to protecting a citizens rights to bear arms.
Black Leaders Stand for Gun Rights!
It is easy to get one’s way with those using the smallest of mind thought-set, by using fear and telling them that this is the only answer to the woes of your ills. For after all even Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stated: “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
I’m not saying these are unintelligent people, not at all, but what intelligence they have are in allegiance with those that help them pay the bills so to speak, or even are the false nurturer and guidance that they seek instead of the one true nurturer and most definitely true provider as stated in their Bibles, God. They turn to a government bureaucrat to fulfill something that only God can and has given them the right to use through him, by him, for him! Small are the minds of those that do not put a single thought of logic behind what a mere mortal human is espousing on their personal freedoms. Small is the mind that does not listen to the voice of reason and logic which some of us call, “that voice of conscience” which for many comes from knowing God’s creed. For it states in,
Exodus 22:2-3 ~If a thief is found breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no bloodguilt for him, 3 but if the sun has risen on him, there shall be bloodguilt for him. He shall surely pay. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
1 Timothy 5:8 ~8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
You then have this verse from the bible that states: Judges 5:8 reminds us of what happens to a foolish nation that chooses to disarm: “They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?” Now mind you they did not have firearms during those times of course, so they armed themselves with weapons as comparable if not of lesser power to those of their enemies and enemies of God.
I know there are those out there reading this that will try to quote the scripture of Romans 12:19 and Matthews 5:38 without citing the full verses or reading further, because in Matthews 5:39 the Bible clearly states: But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
On Friday, February 22 in the year of our Lord 2013, I with Pastor Shannon Wright, got to stand with Star Parker and many other black leaders (many of which were pastors themselves) to have our voices heard at a Press Conference in Washington D.C. on Gun Rights. I do believe that if so many that have jumped upon this “Gun Control” issue with the liberal left realized how detrimental the loss of the right to bear arms with the freedom to choose how and where they can bear their arms would impact them and their loved ones, they wouldn’t be so quick to jump on this bandwagon to self extermination. The quickest way to remove yourself from having the power to be heard, seen, and acknowledged with respect as well as being taken serious, is the give up the right to protect those freedoms. This fact can be supported by this brief historical snippet of the Kristallnach also known as “The night of broken glass”:
Over a period weeks in October and November 1938, the Nazi government disarmed the German Jewish population. The process was carried out both by following a combination of legal forms enacted by the Weimar Republic and violence. The Nazi hierarchy now did not have to worry about rounding up the Jews and having to face armed resistance. They even exploited criminal acts by anyone that was Jewish or perceived to be of Jewish heritage as a fear tactic to have their laws executed with executive orders by their hierarchy audacious lawlessness over the rights of the citizens.
Blacks as well as other minorities have to understand, we too need the right to protect ourselves as we see fit within the laws of the land that allow conceal and carry, with the right to bear arms. After all, how many of us live in Urban areas where criminals DO NOT feel they are subjected to follow the law, thus they choose the “thug life” and living on the edge thus the acts and name of criminals. They feel they are the law, it’s their “territory” to run their drug/crime entities and the other citizens are just trespassers if you get in their way or are caught in their crossfire. We are easy pickings for them, they know if gun control laws are passed, those of us that want to live by the Bible and love our fellow-man are also the ones that obey the laws of the land and will be easier to live off of, than taking the risk of being shot dead by trying to rob a bank protected by…Yes an ARMED security guard.
Is your life less valuable than someone’s that works at a bank, government office, and/or locked-up in a federal institution that has..ARMED guards too?
I along with my fellow right to bear arms Last Civil Rights conservative women ask that you enlarge your insight on gun rights and perhaps the small mind-set of gun control will be enlightened with what mainstream media and those sitting under armed protection in government offices are not telling you. ©
